Rainy Day Notes
Thu Dec 06 2007

"The kids" were rampaging around the house. They needed some outdoor time. But it was drizzling very lightly outdoors. I hesitated.

Rampaging increased. Fiona got into the mix.

Rampaging became obnoxious.

Something must be done.

Decided to brave the drizzle.

Hook up two wiggling dogs. Open door. All three of us pause to contemplate outdoors.
Decide to go for it.

[As Hub Man always says: "Remember this decision."]

Headed for open fields. Turned Sunny loose. Kept poor Frodo on the leash.
Contemplate letting him loose too. Rejected idea.
Felt bad for Frodo. Contemplate looseness again.
Imagine watching Frodo's skinny fanny disappearing into the distance...
Reject again.
Contemplate unfairness of Frodo's situation, looseness might be good. It would test my theory of Frodo's tolerance for looseness.

Rain begins to increase.
Imagine chasing Frodo all over acres of rain soaked fields. Reject looseness idea altogether.

Rain increases more.

Decide to head for home. [Too late] Everyone is damp. Shoes muddy. Socks wet.

Rain increases.

Arrive home. Dry off muddy dogs.

House smells of wet dogs.

However rampaging has stopped.

So has the rain.

(Nice timing Cupcake.)

Shut up ( ) .

*laffs* Nothing smells quite like wet dog

RYC: I'm with you. I love the idea but I'll wait until the price comes down and they work out all the bugs. R would particularly love it as he's constantly moaning about the piles, stacks, and boxes of books around here. I keep thinking if I leave enough of them laying about he might actually read one some day.

And Fiona did what? Well, cats do have better sense than dogs. I never saw a cat that would prefer a romp in the rain to a snooze on a nice cozy rug.

    Bless

That sounds like my kind of day. I remember doing that with the kids on a walk, all bundled in a stroller, and suddenly flash flood from the sky I swear. I RUN home, get inside, close the door, get us all cleaned up and changed and then it stopped raining. Just like that. Silly God always teasing us.

Ah the smell of wet dog, smells like home. Well, smells like my house anyway!!!!! I know how that one goes, Demon Hell Hound bouncing around when it's throwing it down outside and always that question, to walk or not to walk....
