Little Red Away From Home
Mon Oct 13 2008

Little Red Hen here....
Well, it has finally happened.
She has abdicated the domestic goddess throne completely for the day.  I have been taken into exile with her. Why I had to come along, I'll never know.

We are sitting in someone else's house fiddling around with documents that make no sense whatsoever. Right now we are waiting for another one to come down the hall on a little thing that looks like a pack of gum.
It's all very suspicious. How can this be called serious work? Ridiculous.
The only thing that is keeping me from losing my sanity, is the knowledge that before we left the house, we finished canning the last of the apple butter.
Nary an apple is left that has not been preserved in some way.
But still, the laundry is piled up and the rugs need vacuumed, and worse, no one is home seeing about dinner.

Sigh.

I hope this won't go on for too long.

I feel faint.

I need my nest.

Just exactly what are you and Red doing? Sounds very suspicious.

    Should Homeland Security be notified?

    Bless

    Red,

Just consider it a good deed and enjoy the day off from regular duties. However suspicious it may have looked there are probably good reasons for everything and, in all honesty, your day sounded better than mine especially if said fiddling around with documents came with a bit of pay.

I worked for free all weekend and half of today on a document that no one cared a fig about in the end. I could have been quilting or working on my new crocheted sweater. It's red by the way; such a lovely color.

What a waste of a perfectly cloudy fall day. *sigh*
