It is so warm here today, I have the back door open, and the furnace off. The dogs are happy as clams. They can go in and out as they please. I'm happy too, not having to play doorman all day.
I'm making progress in the back yard. This weekend, I cleared away a lot of leaves and weeds and moved a few plants. I bought some dianthus and a little shrub of some kind, I forget the name of it. Today I pruned one of the apple trees. I might do the one in the front yard if I get brave enough. It is scary to prune a fruit tree. I do a lot of 'stand back and take a look' maneuvers while I'm doing it.
At the knitting guild meeting this month, we are doing a 'challenge' or more like a knit-a-long with a scarf pattern. I can't wait to see what everyone does with this interesting pattern:

It is really fun to work on. It's written with expensive Noro yarn in mind, but I decided to use up what I have on hand. It could be a lot more striking with another kind of yarn. My thrifty gene kicked in. I just wanted to learn the pattern and participate with the group.
Speaking of nice weather, I think I will go back out there and pull a few more of those pernicious, aggravating and horrid Bermuda grasses. A pox on them.

Pull weeds while the sun shines.
That's my motto!
