Full Bloom
Thu Feb 19 2009

Last night I asked Hub Man to turn off the Fox News. I told him I couldn't handle any more. Not one more bit of bad news.

So we watched the old video of South Pacific instead. We didn't even stay up to watch Lost. We programed the VCR to tape it and went to bed.

This morning I turned on the radio and found out that my state 'legislators' henceforth to be referred to as 'power mad, money grubbing shysters', had voted in our long overdue budget and decided to up our taxes to the tune of a sum that I cannot fully get my mind around.

Great.

I turned off the radio.

I went outside.

Where things seem to look a little more cheerful.

Here's Ben inspecting the miniature daffodils:

Here's Ben in another pose. Sunny wasn't much interested in the flowers this morning. Maybe she has been listening to the news too....

Ben rather enjoys chewing on a little tuft of wheat grass that I planted months ago.

And here are the big daffodils :

I don't think anything in my backyard has heard the bad news. In fact I don't think they care one way or the other about it. Wish I could say the same But I'm pretty sure it's my job to at least try to keep up with things going on in the world.

I think so anyway...  I could be wrong.

I've been wrong before.

From time to time.

I have decided that politians suck.
Of course I came to that conclusion years ago, but they have been confirming it on a grand scale of late.
That's all I'm gonna say on THAT subject.

I haven't read the paper yet, nor heard the news on the radio, but I did hear about the lockdown. Why didn't that happen *months* ago?!

Well, I don't know how they could pass a budget of any kind without upping the taxes. But I didn't see anything about millionaires anteing in. Who is going to be hit hardest? Oh, dumb question.

I'd rather look at the daffodils.

    Bless

    I've always loved South Pacific.

Praise God---(that's not a suggestion, it's me praising God).

    Take care and God bless...Parett
