Now, Where Was I?
Mon Apr 06 2009

I am trying to piece together my life after jury duty.

We found a man not guilty of assault and battery.

In our humble opinion... well, not so humble now that I think of it, the incident in question was self defense, according to 12 people.

I have been around WAY too many people I don't know.

For an introvert, this is akin to being feasted on by vampires. [I have been reading 'Twilight' at the behest of Hub Man. It's the first analogy that popped in my head.]

I LIKE the vampires mind you, they are mostly nice people, and while I'm with them I am yucking it up and having a good time. It's when I get home that I have problems. I can't remember my name or where I put my toothbrush.

One night after jury duty followed straight away by a knitting guild meeting, I went home, got into bed and cried I was so tired.

Sigh.

I don't have the chops for public life. I told Hub Man I am eternally grateful that he is in charge of providing for our household, because if it was my job to do that, we would probably starve.

So, now that I am finished with this civic duty, I am spending my time trying to come up with a suitable sign to carry when I go to the Tea Party at the capitol steps on April 15th.

Go here to read about it:

This will be the first time I have ever participated in a protest of any kind. I intend to take my video camera, my digital camera and report on it here.

When I get my sign finished I'll take a picture of it and post it beforehand.

Well, I am off now to inspect the dirty clothes basket and perhaps delve into the question of vacuuming.

It's about time too.
Enough of this loafing around
at the courthouse.
There's REAL work to be done.

RYC: See, what you need to do is promise him you'll learn to ride a motorbike if he'll take you to NZ for a biking holiday :-)

I'm right there with ya. I can only take humanity in small doses before I have an emotional meltdown. Glad you survived!

Our very own Yetzirah becomes an Activist. I don't know if that's some kind of miracle, but it sure is a wonder to behold.

    C'mon, guys, join the protest.

Yep, that would be it. But that picture doesn't even begin to show the beauty of the place. Warm Lake is situated in a loooong valley between very high mountains. There's a stream that feeds the lake. and the lake gives off a stream at its other end. Showing the office doesn't do justice to the place. Or, at least, as I remember it.

Yes, I see the links now that you point them out to me. I remember the cabins, as we always stayed in one. There are some changes in the place. After 50 years already? :D
Wish I had a working printer. The old one is perfectly good, but the cables don't mesh with the plug in place on the new puter. I would print that scene of the lake and remember other times. I think I can see the spot where I shoved off in the canoe.
People seem to like my memories, so maybe next time I'll write about our adventures in Baja California.
