An Elephant's Eye

The garden is in 'full on' mode right now.

Things are growing at alarming rates. Except for the flowers. They are behind the curve. I guess they will shine later when the vegetables are getting tired.

The corn is leading the way at the moment. Here is the result:

I guess I planted an early variety. Which is good because I might get a chance to plant something completely different when they are finished producing.

The other day I got nervous that I didn't have enough tomato plants in the ground, so I bought two more plants and put them here:

The 'insurance tomatoes'.  They are a new to me variety called 'Goliath'.  I'm not sure what kind of fruit I will get from them, but I sure like the plants. They are very sturdy of stem and leaf. We shall see what kind of producers they are.

I'm looking forward to the farm box tomorrow. My fruit and vegetable bins in the fridge are bare. I hear there will be strawberries and rhubarb this time. Sounds like pie time.

Well that's about it for now. What can I tell you. I lead a quiet life. . . Most of the time.

I've never seen corn like that. What's the variety?

    Pie time? What time?

RYQ: I'm feeling tired and achy. Spent part of the morning on the patio enjoying the day, reading the paper.

Had a call from Megan, and she's employed again and being paid by a new company. Well, actually the company that took over the bankrupt company. So things are looking up for her.

The cats pretty much keep track of me.

    Bless

Your heading had me humming "Oh What a Beautiful Morning" to myself as I waited for the bus this morning. Kind of ironic seeing as I was standing shivering in the icy rain and bitter wind... :-)
