I was under the illusion that I would jump right in to my week and get all kinds of things done. But I didn't reckon on the rather insistant need for battery recharging that my poor body and psyche is demanding. It's the curse of the introvert. I play, I pay.
Fiona rather sums up my level of activity yesterday:

Today I snapped out of it long enough to get to the eye doctor and do some shopping, then tackle the laundry. Don't talk to me about the floors though. After the storm, we have an impressive pile of wind shredded leaves all over the back yard. And every time the dogs come in, they bring a little collection of them and spread them artfully here and there and.....everywhere. It looks like floor salad.
I am starting to like it. Gives the place a rustic look.
Speaking of eye doctors, I'm getting proper glasses. A little correction on top, and reading on the bottom. I'll be the one with the bifocal line, keeping me level with the world.
(You my dear, will always be half a bubble off plumb no matter WHAT you do.)
Don't you have some papers to correct or something?

- From:InStitches (Legacy)On:Wed Oct 21 2009I think Fiona has the right idea. I wish I could join her.
You're in pretty good shape...... it takes two lines to keep me on an even keel. - From:Mamallama (Legacy)On:Wed Oct 21 2009Ah Fiona. My kinda cat.
I have lineless bifocals.
What does that say about me?
Maybe THAT'S what is wrong with me, eh?!! - From:Mamallama (Legacy)On:Wed Oct 21 2009Floor salad.
You crack me up, SIL. - From:404Error (Legacy)On:Wed Oct 21 2009I LOLed about the "floor salad," too! Nice. I now have a name for all this crap on my floor.
- From:Welshamethyst (Legacy)On:Wed Oct 21 2009floor salad is a constant around here, too.
Is Fiona wearing nail caps? - From:BakeACake2 (Legacy)On:Wed Oct 21 2009OMG, my dog does the SAME thing. Little pieces of leaves all over the kitchen floor. Now, I don't vacuum hair, I vacuum pieces of leaves!!! LOL. I love the way you describe it!! I need new glasses BADLY. Need to make an appointment soon....take care!!
- From:Welshamethyst (Legacy)On:Wed Oct 21 2009RYC: you can always paint them purple before you put them on if you feel froggy!
- From:Salamander (Legacy)On:Wed Oct 21 2009I've had bifocals for about five years now. It took me about three years to get used to them! I found stairs particularly treacherous; that line in the middle of the glasses made it hard to focus, especially while going downstairs. I learned to hang on to the handrailing until I finally figured out how to keep my balance.
- From:Pragmatist (Legacy)On:Wed Oct 21 2009Fiona has the right of it! I'm doing pretty much the same thing after my arrival home.
I'm glad I don't have to clean up the yard. We have yard people here to do that. I just tend to my patio plants.
