Big Weather, may it do ya fine...*
Thu Jan 21 2010

Wow, yesterday was a quite the weather show. It blew and rained and then just for fun, we had one flash of lightning and some nice thunder and hail to top off the day. Oh yes, and about three or so hours of no power. That helped out nicely with my desire to get away from the computer!

This morning it is calm and cloudy. The next wave of rain is on the way, but I dashed out on my bike during the lull to see how the pond is doing.

Verdict?

Full up.

Here's the overflow:

When you live in a place that doesn't get rain for months and months on end, rain becomes a sort of miraculous event you can't help but get a little silly about it.

(You my dear are silly about a great many things....)

Short term power outages have their advantages; they are wonderful for forcing us into calmer activites.

As to any silliness over rain, you are not alone. It rains here all the time and some people still can't get over it; there is too much, there is not enough, its heavy, its light, its misty, it comes down in sheets and by golly its wet! :)

    Yep. I'd say you're right.
    That pond is full!

Enjoy the rain while you have it and may it not runneth too much over ;). We didn't get our ice storm but we've gotten a lot of rain and they're calling for thunderstorms this evening. We've only had thunderstorms in January for the last three years, never before, and it kind of freaks me out. All we need is a good tornado to shake up the new year.

Thanks for the shots of the pond. As you know I do not walk there. Not to say I shouldn't. :-) Love to see it so full.
