In case you ever wondered what lentils look like when they are young plants, here ya go:

I tossed the ones I sprouted to see if they WOULD sprout, into an empty planter out front. They decided to make a go of it, even in this chilly weather we are having.

As much as I enjoy eating lentils, I am amazed that I have lived this long as a so-called gardener and haven't tried growing them...

I spent most of the afternoon yesterday making out seed catalog orders. I have let my seed stores dwindle to very little and this year, I'm making up for it.

Well, have to go now and watch my challah dough rise. If it was up to me, that's all we would have for dinner tonight. Challah and butter and honey. Sounds right somehow....
