The sun came out today.

We made a run for it to the open fields.

I was wrong Dad, Sunny flushed out a hen pheasant. I guess they are still around!

I heard today that Sacramento has had 11 straight days of rain. Did you relocate the city up to Washington when I wasn't looking?

I haven't seen a ringneck in these parts for years. When I was a kid they were common - we had a birdfeeder in the yard outside the kitchen window and I'd have breakfast in the morning while watching the pheasant cocks duck it out under the birdfeeder for the feed on the ground.

Now look what you've gone and done. You've made me all wistfully nostalgic.
