Sunny has been to the groomer this morning.

They did a nice job too. Got rid of a lot of hair. Yipee!

Here she is in the back yard, breathing a sigh of relief.

I'm sure that was weird to be taken to a strange place and subjected to indignities by people she didn't know. But what can I say? I still can't REALLY talk to dogs and have them fully understand me, more's the pity. I suppose they are used to a certain amount of confusion in their lives.

Now that she has been de-thatched, the vacuum cleaner and I may have a fighting chance around here...

(Good luck with that.)

This has been a fairly extreme shedding year at our house, too. I need to get Maggie down and use the thinning shears on her trousers and skirts. That ought to be more fun than a body can handle and if Romeo weren't so pretty I'd shave his fluffy butt down. Good thing he's addicted to his brush or we'd be in real trouble.

I still have to deal with whether or not I want to get LGS shaved down. In her case it's to help the healing process, but because she's on steroids there is an excellent chance it will take up to two years for her hair to grow back (if it does at all). She still hasn't grown back her belly fur from last summer's surgery.

Sunny looks wonderful with her summer grooming. I can only imagine how happy she is to be back in the yard where she can roll in the dirt and get that "freshly groomed" feel off of her!
