Dog Urp Banished - Film at Eleven
Fri Jun 18 2010

I have pictures to share of the garden, but the deardiary pictures are being transferred to a new server right now, so I can't upload them at the moment.
No matter. I have patience!

My most favoritest carpet cleaning guy came today and cleaned all but one room of our carpeting. I am SO grateful! He is the nicest guy and does a wonderful job for very reasonable rates. The whole house is open to dry out the rugs. We are about 80% done in that department. Half my house is on the back patio waiting to be put back. We are going to re-arrange the furniture.
Have to wait for Hub Man to get home. He actually has some good ideas in the furniture moving department from time to time, so I'm waiting it out.

I mixed up a batch of cookie dough that is resting in the refrigerator. And while he was cleaning away on my carpets, I sprayed down the front porch, washed the slider window and cleaned up my kitchen. I had to take a nap after all this activity, but what the heck, I deserved it!

What a lovely day.
All is right with the world.
Except.... you know that shower...
it could use a good scrub.
And that one window might be clean,
but have you LOOKED at the rest of them lately?

(Wow, I thought *I* was bad.)

I'm used to it.

I ate the very first picking of zucchini for lunch today. Fried in a little butter with herbs and garlic salt. Yummolicious.

It's been a good day. Very good indeed.

Let's bake the cookies.....

NOW!

I think that's a fine idea. A warm cookie would be JUST the thing to round out the day.

No wonder my great-grandmother hated her maiden last name so much-- even though it was a famous name AND she was actually first cousins to the famous branch of the family-- Earp!

We got rid of all the carpet in the house and went with the original hardwood floors in the bedrooms and Pergo in the living room and hall so that cleaning up erp and paw prints wouldn't be totally horrible.

We have four rugs in the whole house. The two braided rugs by the sides of our bed, the bathroom rug, and the hand-woven Turkish rug in my office.

Does anyone ever puke on the hard floor surfaces? NO. They always, always, always, puke on the rugs *sigh*

I guess it's some kind of talent they have.......

And did you give the rug man a cookie?

Aw, Hen, give it a rest.

    Bless

After reading Welshie's comment, I had to add my own. If Banshee took one more step, and managed to get to the linoleum, his hairball would be oh! so much easier to clean up. But, no, has to be the carpet.

Missy is even worse. She barfs in the middle of the hallway where it's dark.

    It's a conspiracy!

    *sigh*

Now you've done it. The resident Hen is green with envy......clean carpets, clean windows......and cookies! What were you thinking?

Now I have to figure out how to convince her that Pioneer Chic is the best thing to come along since the Swiffer replaced feather dusters!

Chiming in with my own two cents - I've had cats run out of the kitchen so they could be on carpetted floor when they regurgitate. I've picked urping cats up and run them to the kitchen floor; by the time I get to the kitchen the cat has stopped barfing and I've left a trail of cat vomit behind me on the carpet.
