New Homey
Mon Jun 21 2010

Yesterday our 13th foster dog arrived.
Her name is Sara and she is 6 years old.
Her owner was having serious health problems and had to find her a new home.
Here she is, feeling uncertain on her first day in a new place....

Then a few hours later, feeling a little better out at the playground...

She is small in stature, but tubby. We will work on the tubby. I don't think it will be hard to do, as she is pretty willing to run around if given the space to do so. She came from an agility breeder originally, and I think she might have what it takes to do that sport if someone decided they wanted to give her a shot at it.

So far she gets along with Fiona just fine, but is a little grumpy with Sunny and Ben. But it is early in the game. We shall see.

I feel bad that though her coat is clean, the previous owners used clippers on her, so she has a sort of 'chopped up' haircut right now. That's sad, because I think she would be really striking if her coat was left natural.

That's the latest and greatest right now. Hope we have a smooth transition to a new home this time. No drama.

(Good luck with that.)

Her coat really doesn't look that chopped in the pictures. With luck it should fill in quickly for her.

Welcome, Sara. You'll find that Sunny and Ben are delightful companions. You won't find anyone better than Deborah as a foster mom!

    Bless

Sara, welcome to Clan Sheltie. You will have a wonderful time there. Please try to give Sunny and Ben a break. They are very kind and understanding fur people and have met many others like you. They will do everything they can to make your time with them fun and enjoyable. They even share their toys! Better yet, they don't mind sharing their Mommy with you. You can count on delicious treats, wonderful outings, cool tiles when it's hot and warm, snugly places to sleep and be left in peace when you are tired. All in all, it's a great place to be.

Well, isn't Sara just a pretty little girl! She hit the jackpot by landing at your house. Tubby is treatable and the rest will follow.

Thank you for taking time to do rescue work. I haven't in years and I miss it a lot.

Miss Sara is very pretty and will be a real beauty once she slims down a bit.

I see a lot of long walks in your future. Not a bad way to spend a day......if its not too hot your direction that is. We are rather cool and wet here. :)
