Finish Line and New Goals
Fri Jan 14 2011

Last night in a flurry of activity, I finished the pair of birthday socks I have been working on. Just in time too, because they need to go in the mail today if they are going to arrive in time for the happy day.

This left me with such a feeling of freedom from deadlines that I had a brainstorm.

I have had all these knitting ideas floating around in my head while working on the birthday socks....
[fingering weight yarn on size 0 needles requires a major time expenditure.... for me anyway... so I had a lot of time to think!] So after I admired the socks, and petted them over and over, I got to work.

I spread out patterns and yarn and needles all over the living room floor and sorted through it all and came up with this:

Sorry for the blurry picture, it's gloomy outside this morning and the flash won't work with all that reflective plastic....

Grab and go knitting projects complete with pattern, yarn and needles required. No thinking, no guessing, no fooling around. Now I can put all those floating ideas to rest in their respective bags and be able to use my brain power for other, more pressing things.

(And Lord knows you could use a little less clutter in your brain. There's not much room in there on a good day...)

Don't I know it.

I'd be thrilled if I had a list of the ideas that floated through the gray matter while I was working. To be that organized about it would probably send the hen into a dead faint, but I must say I like it. :)

    Now that's organization!
