Book Bag for a Book Worm
Mon Jan 17 2011

Hub Man was available this morning to pull the name out of the felted bowl since it's a holiday.

And the name he fished out was....

Welshamethyst!

Congratulations!

I think I have your mailing address already, W. but shoot it to me anyway just to double check.

It's been gray and foggy here for days it seems. Yesterday I decided to stop waiting for good weather and spent some time in the back yard. I pruned the apple tree and raked all the leaves up. Poor thing looks rather naked and forlorn right now. But I am happy with the results.

I also am trying out a strategy to keep my dogs from messing up our yard and fencing while I am off to do errands and what not....

I took all the fencing I had that was keeping them OUT of certain areas of the yard, and put it all together in a smaller area to keep them IN. Major shift in philosophy. Canine Containment instead of Canine Deterrent. It will need to be modified when mowing season arrives. But for now, it seems to be working. I found those two panel fence sections at Lowe's last spring and fell in love with them. You can move them anywhere you want to, they make pretty good gates if you tie them together with tie wraps and they look pretty too. Only 20 dollars for a pair! I kept going back and getting more. If they have them again this year, I might snag a couple more of them to do my summer modifications.

Anyway, today I'm baking. It's the perfect weather for it.

Enjoy your book back Welshamethyst!

    Squeeeeeeeee!

    *does happy dance*

Thanks so much. You know it'll have a good home and my books will be happy to have a nice warm sweater in which to rest themselves ;)

Great fence. Ray just installed one similar downtown and it looks fab. I've been thinking about moving my garden and if I do I'm going to use the 20 x 20 fenced area as a doggy playground to keep them out of the muddy patches where I simply can't get grass to grow. I need to try some other form of ground cover but I'll still have to keep them out of that area while it takes hold.

Have you noticed how each of your knitted art pieces has ended up with the exact perfect owner?

I do believe there is a bit of divine intervention going on here. And really, how cool is that! :)

Congrats to W.! I love the little bag I kept, I just have to remember not to "love" it by rubbing it on my face, being allergic to wool and all. :-S The recipients of the other two bags (my mother and the Kid's girlfriend's cousin) love theirs as well.

That fencing is great! I may have to do something like that myself this year, having two puppies in the house now.

Nice pruning job! What's my excuse for not getting off the couch? I have fruit trees and roses that need attention. Oh look... a knitting project to work on.
