How are things by me?

Well, wheeling yourself around a carpeted house in a wheelchair is a challenging physical endeavor.

My arms are getting stronger. The strains on other body parts are subsiding. And I’m learning to stop and look around when I have hauled myself into a far corner of the house to make sure that I have everything I want from that corner before returning to my computer room. There’s nothing like remembering you left your glasses on the bathroom counter after brushing your teeth to put one in a grumpy frame of mind. I have a tight corner to negotiate to get in and out of that room and it makes me testy to have to do it AGAIN when I was just in there two minutes ago!

Psychologically?

Different kettle of fish.

The forced inactivity is hard on this jack in the box. I’m trying to find my Zen, but my Wiggle objects.... Loudly.

It’s on my agenda today to pull weeds in the tomato patch and pick the rest of the peas. I’ll TRY to remember my camera when I go out there.

Acey had his teeth cleaned and is doing fine. He feels more himself today and has come out from his little coffee table doggy den and is engaging in things.

We like to see him out and about. With fresh breath no less!

Bonus!

I found it helpful to have a little tote bag handy to carry all those little items little items I might need.......it was rather like when I packed a diaper bag for an outing with baby... sans diapers of course. I mean really, you never know when you might need a book, project, kleenex, glasses, camera, snack or a pen and paper for lists and such.......... essentials for maintaining any measure of Zen. :)

Hang in there..... only a couple more weeks and you'll be up and around again.

Been thier and a wheel chair is a real pain. It is HOT record day ahead 91 at present. Weird weather . Take extra caution about weeding as it
is easy to get into trouble. Now if you could just train the dogs to weed that would be great.

Have you considered while you are limited in your mobility, brushing your teeth at the kitchen sink? Also, have you looked into getting one of those knee walkers instead of a wheel chair? I know that they can be rented, and I'm told that you can almost always find them on CraigsList.

Your brudder, being the sympathic person he is (NOT), would say, "Would you like some cheese with that Whine?" I hear that one all the time.

I, being much more sympathic, feel for you, my dear. I will cheer you on by saying, "One week down, two to go! YOU CAN DO IT!" I have faith in you. Totally.
    We'll chatter later.

I don't envy you the buggy, but I'm glad you're sticking to it. The foot will heal *much* faster if you minimize stress on it during the initial healing phases.

Glad to hear Acey's smile sparkles again. The Little Grey Pooper needs a dental, but I've been putting it off until I have some money to pay for it. So far her breath is OK, but I've got to bump that up on the priority list.

I was going to ask you about a walker, too. I had never thought about using the bench as a place to put your knee, but I guess that would work. I know the last time I broke my ankle Nana's walker was much easier to use in the house than my crutches were, and it didn't even have a seat.

I'm really starting to worry that this year's tomato crop will be just like last year's-- dismal. I'm still wearing sweaters and it rains every second or third day. Heck, we've had the garden in for over a month and have watered exactly once.

We haven't even put up the pool, and if it continues this way, we probably won't. Who wants to swim when it never gets over 70?
