Winter Coco
Tue Dec 06 2011

I am prepared to be confused about what day it is all week. Hub Man took a day off yesterday, so this feels like Monday to me. We are such creatures of habit eh?

It is well and truly winter here. People are scraping frost off their windshields in the morning. The grass is crunchy. And I’m wishing I had a wood stove.

This is the one I want....

Just in case there is any confusion on the matter...

Coco is settling in just peachy around here. She has even started to play with Ben, which is a new experience for him. Lately the fosters that have come to us are for various reasons either mildly hostile to him or indifferent. Ben give everyone the space they request. But Coco, after at first being freaked out by the roughhousing that goes on around here, has decided it looks like Ben and Sunny are having way too much fun and she isn’t going to miss out.

Ben is astonished to say the least and last night played ‘front legs down, butt in the air’ tag with Coco for a good 10 minutes. I finally sent them outside.

She’s a good little dog and I’m sure we will find her a home soon.

Though the mornings are brisk, by afternoon things warm up nicely and are just right for long walks. I think I may have to go out into the fields for some psyche realignment a bit later on.

I need to tread on this:

I’m thinking some time here will make it all better.

(It’s going to take more than a walk on some overgrown road to straighten out YOUR inner workings there Cupcake. Where you need to go to do that, there ARE no roads.)

I couldn’t have said it better myself.

(Wait a minute. You AGREE with me?)

Yep.

((I see I’m going to have to work on my snark skills. I must be getting rusty.))

That IS a nice stove! I love that the oven has a thermometer! I don't know about storing wood UNDER the stove, though. It just doesn't seem very safe. I would worry about it getting too hot and catching fire. I mean, I know the ash catcher is between the floor of the wood stove and the wood, but... I like the airtight stoves with the enameled steel cases, too. They have excellent efficiency, you can still use the top like a slow cooker, they can also be used as a really quick clothes dryer-- AND the clothes are not only dry, but ironed!

May I join you on your journey down that lovely road?

RYC: I'm sorry for being cryptic. It's in my nature.....
