I'm gathering my wits. Something I need to do of a Monday morning from time to time. It's going to be a busy week and I'm trying to ramp up my enthusiasm for it. It's been a bit of a slog this morning, but I think a good lunch will fortify me for a productive afternoon. Yesterday was a cold, rainy, windy, sunny, thundery, sunny, cloudy day with a hailstorm near the end to spice things up. It's almost like the weather was having an identity crisis or something. Today it is sunny and the dogs are outside. They NEED to be outside. They both need a bath, but the weather has been so wet that I didn't have the heart to dunk 'em in suds and toss them out into the rain. Ergo, I have hair shedding, smelly dogs that I don't want to associate with at the moment. My favorite carpet cleaning guy Dave is coming on Thursday to clean up the winter collection of dog stains on my rugs. I can hardly wait. I think I'll bake him cookies. At some point this week I'll dunk the dogs in suds. And we will have clean dogs AND clean carpet at the same time. What a concept. Did you say DAVE was coming this week? THE Dave? The lovely man with the huge carpet cleaning van? THAT Dave? I LOVE Dave. You BETTER make him some cookies. I'll brew the tea. Maybe we could make some home made chocolates for him too? Do you think he likes raspberry ganache? I'm going to go through my recipes.  Ooooo… DAVE! This could prove to be embarrassing.  (I'm already embarrassed.)

Tell me more about this DAVE. Does he ever do pro bono work? If so, give him my number. BTW, the one great thing about pups with short hair is that they (nearly) always smell nice. Long fur really sucks up the not so nice doggie odors, but short fur is all but immune, except for when they roll in something dead. Sad for Jethro, since he LOVES baths and spends hours each day cleaning himself like a cat, but good for Ellie because she'd rather be dipped in honey and staked to an ant hill than actually get IN the water. She actually "swims" above an empty tub, bless her poor, little, terrified heart. I still think she wouldn't be the possessive, territorial, neurotic, aggressive chewer-upper of stuff that she is today if I'd been able to adopt her when I first went to see her, fully two months before I actually brought her home.

March weather is all about identity crisis........yesterday we had sun, rain and snow all at the same time......no kidding. It was surreal, but very entertaining. lol My week is nothing short of insane......if you find a way to truly gather wits I'd be most interested. I'm at my wit's end....... really.
