My Head Hurts- In A Good Way….I Think

I have changed over to the Genesis theme here and have been learning how to change things around to make it look more like I want it to. This entails a certain learning curve. It's steep, but maybe not as steep as the old dear diary customizer when one is VERY honest about it. New is hard, even when it's a good new. (That is a pretty lame sentence right there.) I know. I'm tired. I have computer fatigue. [Thanks to Miss Tick by the way for her tips and hints. Check them out if you need a few pointers on how things work around here….] And what makes it even worse, is I'm thinking about changing the look of my diary in its entirety. I figure, in for a penny, in for a pound. So if in the next few entries, you see odd things on this page, please, not to panic. I will try to find something interesting and perhaps soothing. I was rather fond of my old header, but it won't work in this new theme, so I may scrap the whole idea and start over. Like I don't have enough to do already eh? (Have you gathered the eggs today?) Not yet. (I'm telling Red.) Be my guest.

    First of all - I think, you won't regret switching over to Genesis - it is full of potential! I've figured out how to add picture to the side bar - check my "Tipsies". As for your header picture - the theme only accepts certain size, so all you have to do is edit your picture to this size - shrink it in picture editing software and you'll get it fitted perfectly. Me, personally, went the "dramatic" way - I've changed my design all together. Gave me that creative rush I didn't know I was missing for so long ;-) lol

      opsss and I've just realised that if you are NOT logged in to DD when posting comments, then it won't pick up your diary link, unless you specifically enter it into Website field for this comment. Duh! :-)

    I like your new look.......it reflects your return to the mountains. How can you go wrong with wild flowers? Learn lots.....I'm counting on it for when I have time to make the big move. You are my emergency contact. lol ;)

    Like this look, it feels cosy, like home :-) Also liked the one with the green textured background and the header in its place, came back to tell you that and found you've changed it again ;-) i was doing the same things earlier today...ah, the joys of creativity! Do you know that if you activate the Maintenance plugin (as a supporter you should have it available) you can make a static front page of your diary with a custom message telling your reader your page is down and why, to be displayed when you want to do some changes. I've played with it - it's way too cool! ;-)

    this look is great too! I've played with the background for widgets and wasn't successful, I've got the same issue as you - only menu title background is changed, no matter what I do ;-( I'm afraid, this maybe a bug, coz it should be changeable in my opinion. I haven't noticed this before, because I'm using white bgr! ;-)
