Ready For Weather
Tue Dec 18 2012

I was playing fast and loose with my wood supply in the woodshed these last few days. I decided to let it get pretty much empty so I could clean out the bark and leaves and burn up most of the odd shaped pieces of wood that made the stack all wonky and wobbly. But then I read the weather report and got nervous. There's supposed to be some heavy snow coming our way tomorrow night. So today I got my act together and cleaned out my little shed. Then Sunny, Ben, and I made eight trips to the barn where the big wood stacks are and moved up a bunch of it. The dogs have been a little 'wild' when they go outdoors up here, because there's so much wide open space and few fences. Well, I made them come back and forth and back and forth with me to the barn until they sort of got bored with the whole business. Hopefully, this will make that barn area less interesting to them. Too bad I couldn't get them to haul some wood. Eight wheelbarrow's full is a lot. I think my arms are going to be sore in the morning. But at least the dogs are tired too. And as everyone knows, a tired dog is a good dog. :-) Here's my tidy wood shed and my tired dogs...

That reminds me......a certain wood rack around here is mighty empty...... not good. Those two look like mighty satisfied with all their hard work. ;)

have been thinking about you as our mountain place has had a lot of snow recently! Your woodpile looks small,l but I can say that because I didn't have to wheelbarrow it all to your shed LOL but hope you have more. But I'm dying to know -- have you tried out the lantern yet? :)
