Early of a Wednesday Morning...

Just sit right back and I'll tell a tale, a tale of tiny ship…. Oh wait, wrong tale... But a tale nonetheless. True in all its details. And amazing in all the worlds. Yesterday, besides being the day that our cold …  well, you can't call it a wave, because it didn't move a muscle. Our cold… you can't call it a snap, because it lasted WAY longer than that. Our cold … siege. That's a good word. Our cold siege ended, when a warm breeze blew in at night and started to melt the ice skating rink on the lane to our house, it became a day to remember for other reasons. Anyway, yesterday while the snow was melting, I was given a card by my brother and sister-in-law that contained a twenty dollar bill. In the card were written these words:   What are Moo Moo glasses? Well, they knew that I wanted to buy a set of glasses I found in the Lehman's catalog. I had a very powerful desire for the quirky things, besides the fact that I really AM short on glasses since the move seems to have um…. re-located…. about half of my dishes. I had even made out the order form, but was having some sort of existential problem actually mailing it off. I felt like I didn't really NEED them in the strictest sense, and therefore it might be unwise to part with any more of my limited cashola at this time. Here they are in the catalog:   Maybe it was the little stack of cookies that did it… I'm not sure, but I really wanted those glasses. So anyway, I told them, "I'll order the glasses! Thank you!" and was so tickled that they would do such a sweet thing for me. Then sister-in-law and I went shopping over the hill, 30 miles away to Raley's. We wandered around looking for the dish display which seemed to have been moved because of seasonal items.  I have also been looking everywhere for some more dishes to supplement my aforementioned scanty dinnerware. We finally found the aisle, and inspected what they had on hand and declared them too pricey by half and were about to move on, when I happened to look up at the top shelf. Now if you know me, you are aware that I am rather vertically challenged, so the fact that I even saw them is a minor miracle. But what happened next is NOT minor. There on the top shelf, as bold as you please, were my glasses. I kid you not. Right there in the store. Not far off in Ohio in the Lehman's warehouse where they were going to charge me 7.95 shipping and handling… right over my head, on the VERY day I was given the money to order them!   She and I stood there looking at each other and the glass in my hand in utter astonishment! Then we burst into gales of laughter. Then we heard God laughing too.   Do not TALK to me about coincidences. My Rabbi says there is no such thing as a coincidence. There is only God and you and the wonderful dance of His angels as they plot surprises for you when you need them most. Just to remind you that He's WATCHING. And that little things matter to Him too. So I'm writing this as a thank you note to the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth. To let Him know that I'm SEEING.
