Here Comes The Sun

I think I have mentioned that I was looking around for some new dinnerware. I realized that what I have been using was loaded up with painful memories. ("Looking around" hardly describes your obsessive compulsive behavior surrounding said search. Let's be honest. You've been a madwoman!) Alright. I admit it. Are you happy? (I'm never happy.) You know, I kinda noticed that…. Anyway, I finally located a set that fit the bill. As a matter of fact, they were practically perfect for me. I was dithering however… you know, should I? shouldn't I? I shared my discovery with my son and his wife on Facetime last week. Unbeknownst to me, they made an executive decision straightaway. And these arrived yesterday. * * * * * * * * *   Plates of Joy   I love 'em like chocolate. They make my heart sing. And the fact that they were a gift will forever give them an aura of joy for me. That's JUST what I was trying to accomplish. That they came from my son and daughter-in-law adds an entire 'nother layer of happiness. And you want to know a secret? The name of the pattern is "Girasole", which means Sunflower in Italian. Now is that serendipitous or what? Thank you, my children of the north. I'll think of you every time I  use them! (What are you going to do with all your free time, now that you won't be looking at dishes on the computer all night?) Looking for some new punctuation. :-)

I love your other ones, but these are really gorgeous. Love the color. And the design. They sing with joy. You could probably e-bay your others. Or put them away and one day you may feel differently about them.

LOVE these. And believe me, you will love them EVEN more in the dark days of winter. Ask me how I know LOL -- I bought some similar things years ago for our dark winter days in Moscow, and I was SO happy to have them. Now we need to ask -- did you grow any sunflowers in your garden? I'm thinking of some for next year. Our garden has had a so=so summer so far -- we were back and forth so much in June that the heat and some blocked drip watering things did quite a number on things -- I'm hoping that most things will bounce back. But not sure yet!
