Yesterday, I went to a knitting friend's house to…. well…you know…. knit!
And while we were knitting, we started talking about bread.
She had a recipe she wanted to share with me.
It was actually a link to a recipe.
I came home and looked it up and declared, "It's too good to be true.", so of course I had to try it.
I may have to eat my words.
Eat my words…. get it? Ha, ha.
(Unfortunately, we do get it. But wish we didn't.)
Well, that puts you in an awkward position doesn't it?
Anyway, I followed the recipe pretty much as given, except I could not bring myself to put sticky bread dough into an un-greased dutch oven, so I used some baking spray before heating it up in the oven.
This is what I pulled out a few minutes ago:
My, my.
If it tastes half as good as it looks, it will be a success.
Though the crust is… very …. crusty.
I know some people really like that.
I like the way it looks, but have a hard time actually EATING it.
I'm waiting for it to cool before I cut it open. I'll have to let you know how it tastes later.
Right now, I'm going to go admire it some more.
My house smells like a San Francisco bakery right now.
This alone was worth the effort. :-)
Here's the recipe:
