So I looked back at the last few entries and…well, it's all about the food isn't it?
But what can one expect when it's harvest time?
Today I was queen of food preserving multi-tasking.
I had a small bucket of apples that Mr. P. gave me from his apple tree.
I picked a modest pile of green beans from S's garden, and basil too.
[I'm garden sitting, and it's part of the job.] :-)
So I now have 7 pints of green beans, three of some really tasty applesauce, and a recipe of pesto.
The pesto is going in the freezer, only to emerge one day in the deep of winter to remind us of this hot September afternoon.
I am content.
And my feet hurt.
I'm going to put them up for a while.
Not canned or frozen….. just up.
Tomorrow?
More tomatoes.
The day after?
Pears, God willing. Just a few. But oh they are beauties. Right now they are the stars of the neighborhood. Everyone who has a pear tree is giving them away.
Lucky me.
