I have been working, angsting, swatching, messing up, and working again on a commissioned bag.
During the messing up part, I had a crisis of confidence, which degenerated into… ' pfffftt, I'm not perfect, it will have to do'. Then my pride stepped in and refused to let this bag leave my possession in less than decent shape and I re-knit the handle, where we now join this work in progress...
The yarn emerging from the base of that pocket will be needle felted in a squiggly pattern in the white part of the bag.
I tried out a new thing with the handles, I made loops that they go through and when you pick up the bag, the weight closes the bag up. What do you think?? I'm sort of on the fence about it.
This is the front. The woman who ordered it has her own special button for a closure. I'll install it when I deliver it.
Speaking of delivery, I took two other commissioned bags to their new owner today. So it's knitting everywhere you look around here!
Today I put up some more plastic on a bedroom window. The cold air seeping through that thing was putting frost on my nose. It was 18 degrees here last night! Then Sunny and I went down to the barn and brought back four wheelbarrow loads of wood. Today I feel like an engineer on a locomotive, just shoveling wood Bruce's way to keep the house warm.
In honor of all this productivity, and home improvement, I'm baking myself a batch of toffee brownies.
I need to keep up my strength.
I want a brownie too!
Oh all right, you need to keep your strength up too.
We can't work ALL the time you know….
I think it's time to play.
