Here are the last two butternut squash from my garden.
I ate the last of the potatoes the other day, and there are only about four onions left.
My goal was not to let anything go to waste, and so far with the exception of a handful of potatoes that froze in the pump house, I have succeeded.
I went out a few days ago and dug several carrots from the garden. I was astonished at how well they are keeping!
I mulched them a bit, but not heavily. I guess when we were having our REALLY frigid temperatures, the carrot bed was covered in snow which protected them.
I made cream of carrot soup. Wonderful.
It will be another goal to eat up all the things I canned last year, so I have plenty of jars for this year's garden harvest.
All this… last of ...and no more has driven me to the pages of the seed catalog, where I have marked a few things….
Ahem… just a few. :-)
The sap must be rising or something.
(Yeah, the sap is most definitely present.)
You are such a dork, you know that?
(Well at least I'm not a rube.)
