Today I have been in the grip of rearranging my stuff.
I say grip because at certain points during the day, I felt like I couldn't get enough air. :-)
I don't know HOW it happens, but I found myself once again stumbling over piles of things that needed to get OUT of my house.
Of course few of them needed to go to the same destination, so I had to make piles of the piles. This one to the thrift store, this one to be put down in the barn, this one to the garbage, this one into Bruce to be incinerated, this one boxed up and mailed…. oh yeah, only AFTER I boxed them up did I realize that the post office is closed today. DOH!
Anyway, I managed to wrangle all these objects into their respective categories and only have two deliveries left to make, which I will have to do tomorrow. Suzie Cube is keeping track of them until then. I just had to get them out of the house so I could clean.
At last, I am finished. Laundry done, vacuuming done, floors mopped and dinner makings thawing on the kitchen counter.
(You didn't mention dusting. Did you dust?)
Thin ice ( ), thin ice.
It was touch and go a few times. I pouted once or twice, but I won the battle.
Now in the aftermath, I'm plotting a strategy that will keep that from happening again.

If I would have dealt with these things as they came up, I wouldn't have been buried up to my frosting in the results of my own procrastination. I hereby resolve to be a better gatekeeper. When something comes in, something else must go out! I need simplicity like I need air these days.
Time to make dinner. I've worked up quite an appetite!
And I think I need a cookie too.
