Hen Rehab
Sun Aug 10 2014

Jane spent three days in the slammer. Then by some miracle, in her little gallus domesticus* mind, she saw the light. She has joined flock life again as if nothing ever happened. I think she has experienced a full rehabilitation. In celebration of this event, I have spent most of my morning working in the coop and pen. I cut down all the tall dry grass clumps and ran the sprinkler on the poor parched ground. I cleaned off the poop board and put all fresh Stall-Dry on it. Also brought up three flakes of clean straw for the floor of the coop. The girls have laid three eggs this morning. I don't know how long it will take Jane to start laying her eggs again. We shall see. I raked up the chicken yard a bit and removed the fence sections and returned them to their place protecting my little flowers. In a little while, I will mix feed in the wheelbarrow. I'm waiting for it to dry out after being hosed down. So the coop is in top shape, the run is spiffy, and the hens are happy. Fulltroop   So am I.   *https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicken   lime-wild
