When I used to see hand woven articles, I always said to my low self esteem inner self... 'I wish I could do that'.
Well, today I DID do that.
I assembled the loom.
It only took forty minutes to do that part.
Then I watched a video on YouTube over and over on how to warp it.
I did make one rather glaring error, and had to start over, but I eventually figured it out.
I used a variegated yarn to warp it and a heather solid to weave with.
I was mesmerized by what I was creating...
After I got going on it, I tried several different places and positions to weave in. At the table, in my big reading chair, standing up... I'm still working on that part. I may have to get a slightly higher chair or put a bigger cushion on the one I have. I ended up spending the rest of the day weaving and I actually finished a scarf!
I love it to bits.
It's like learning a new language or something.
Where all the words feel like wool and smell like flowers, and sound like music.
There's only one problem...
Now my loom is naked.
We cannot have a naked loom.
It's just wrong.
Wrong I tell you.
