So the other day during a thunderstorm, the power went out.... right as I was heating up water to start a pot of rice.
How rude!
I was cooking the rice to eat with a zucchini casserole that had been made the day before.
After pouting for a little while, I got into the spirit of 'emergency cooking' and had an idea.
I saw a guy on YouTube boil water using modified tea lights.
I didn't have anything to modify the wicks with, so I used them as they were.
Heat is heat right?
I wanted hot food for dinner, power outage or no.
I sat down to wait and see if my idea would work....
In 20 minutes, I had a hot meal.
I may have to add more tea lights to my emergency supplies. Especially if we are going to have more thunderstorms this summer.
(Warming up leftovers is not exactly 'cooking' you know.)
Yeah, smarty pants, after I ate my food, I fried an egg in that pan, so sit down and shut up. I got this covered.
(Very well. This round goes to you.)
Damn straight!
