Wool, Rain and Watercolors
Tue Dec 22 2015

To our great delight around these parts, we have had a series of storms roll through over the last few weeks that have given us some much needed rain and snow. Today was especially exciting as the heavens opened and rain poured down in earnest. This morning as I was letting the chickens out, I noticed there were some pretty big puddles in the ice pond. But they were only puddles. Nothing too exciting. My sister in law and I drove over the mountain and spent the better part of the day shopping 30 miles away. We were gone about five hours. When I walked onto my back porch, with my arms full of packages, I almost dropped them when I saw the ice pond. It was FULL! DSCN6637 I have NEVER seen it fill up this fast! DSCN6638 I guess the parched ground has soaked up all the moisture it wanted and now it's feeling rich enough to send water to other places. Too bad I don't raise ducks. They would be so happy right now! All this stormy weather is allowing me to indulge in some of my favorite activities. I got out my watercolors yesterday and made a couple of little things... DSCN6634   Now don't tease me about the acid green hen. I have some new paints that I've been wanting to try out, and this was one of my favorites. And finally, to round out the disjointed nature of this post, we have another scarf to give away. (Who is this 'we' you are referring to? You cannot possibly be using the royal We. It is in every way inconceivable for you to consider yourself royalty Cupcake. In EVERY way.) Well, how about Sunny and I? Sunny and I have a scarf to give away. (Sunny doesn't know a scarf from a salad plate. Leave her out of this.) Wow. Somebody is not going to find their name on Santa's 'nice' list this year... (We don't celebrate Christmas. What are you talking about?) And what 'we' would YOU be referring to? ( .....) GOTCHA! Woot! Anyway... here's a scarf made from washable sock yarn. [Though I always recommend to wash these scarves by hand.]  Very lightweight. More of an accessory than for warmth: DSCN6636 Same drill. Leave a comment, and your name goes in the hat. I'll do the drawing on the 24th of December at the end of the day.     lime-wild

I must be color blind, I thought the Hen was golden. I agree with Cat, the tree is lovely. I anticipate a skier entering from the right.

Great scarf, love the colors. Can I call dibs? OK fine, I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope no one else posts anything. Does this mean I get three entries? :-D

The pond looks so good full like that and surroundings are so pretty. Love the scarf-the colors are great! Take care, Linda
