S. in her infinite wisdom, brought me a pot of sprouted Narcissus bulbs one day not long ago.
They have been growing apace under the kitchen window in the sunniest spot in the house. Last night I noticed the first buds emerging. This morning I took this picture:
That tiny little blossom is already putting out a heady fragrance. It's hard to imagine a plant with a more potent smell than this one. Eventually, when all the buds open, it will fill the house.
If ever there was a flower that stood in defiance of winter.... this would be the one!
Yesterday, I spent an inordinate amount of time winding this yarn into a ball in preparation for weaving. Once I got the skein on the swift, I could not for the life of me find the ends. I had to suppress the urge to get out the scissors and MAKE ends several times, but finally found a tiny knot so I could begin winding.
I bought this yarn while visiting my Portland peeps at Thanksgiving.
I adore this color....
I still haven't decided if I will use it alone, or with some other fine yarn scraps that I have on hand. Mulling it over. It's a good day for warping a loom I reckon... it being cold and foggy outdoors.
Bruce will keep me company while I make the decisions.
