Heat Here, Sunspots There
Sun Aug 04 2024

Wow.

Don't go on Twitter. Looks like the world is on fire.

It's hard to fathom, here in the hinterlands, the cul de sac, the backwater, the end of the road before you start to head back into civilization country road. I'm very grateful to be here. Even with all its quirks and inconveniences. (The closest McDonald's is 30 miles away.)

My biggest problem today is a gaggle of weeds that need pulling in my garden. I need to take some pictures for you. But oh my goodness... it's 7 o'clock in the evening here and it's 90 degrees still. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe tomorrow.

Have you seen the sunspot that is cresting the limb right now? It's huge.... if you are interested in the weather on the Sun, here's a great place to learn about it:

I've discovered a wonder of boiling water over the stubborn weeds - no more pulling effort! And if I also add some salt on top of the leaves, it doesn't seems to come back after that either.

sending refreshing breeze your way Misstick

SW Virginia has had yet another brutally hot summer, and we complain about 90-100+ F day after day. I can't imagine living in the heat of the SW US and other places around the world. Interesting website. Thank you!
