Winter Wood Wrapped Up
Sun Aug 25 2024

This is going to be so hard to decide which font to use! Woo hoo!

Thank you Steve for fixing that glitch with the font returning to the default if you make a paragraph break!

Today my friend and neighbor H. came over and helped me stack the last load of wood. We covered it with the tarp and I just spent half and hour securing it with bungee cords and zip ties. I'm a little concerned that a big wind might like to play havoc with it. We shall see.

It's great to have that job taken care of, especially since in the last few days it has been unseasonably chilly. I'm relying on the kerosene heater Eva to take care of the light duty. I was nervous about how much fuel I had in the tank outside, so I got my measuring pole and checked. I have 3/4 of a tank! They don't usually come to fill it until the end of October or early November. I should have more than enough for morning heating during that time.

I'm so amazed at how quickly the wood stacking goes with two people working on it. It's like magic!

This week, if all goes well, I'm going to start cleaning up my garden. It has done so poorly this year, it breaks my heart. The extreme heat and smokey air have just done a number on it. I'm ready to put it out of its misery. - And mine too.
