Rainy Inky Joy
Mon Nov 11 2024

It's raining today.

That may sound very ordinary. A normal occurrence. But for those of us who have lived through too much drought and too many forest fires, it seems miraculous. And the good news is that for the next few weeks, it looks like we will be getting rain on and off the whole time. Sign me UP!

Here's my sample page today. I did this one on Friday, so it's a bit late.

For some reason that I do not fully understand, I have always had an aversion to black ink. With the exception of India Ink used in the formal calligraphy that I have done over the years. This dove gray however is just far enough away from black to be quite appealing to me. There is a distinct brown undertone that is very nice. I may use this ink in my regular rotation once this project is over.

I've already started to try mixing a few of my inks that aren't quite to my liking, and made a nice one the other day. With all these samples, it will be a long time before I need to purchase anything else!

Okay, off to make another page. Today is one called 'Winterberry'.

How blessed am I? Playing with pens and paper and ink on a rainy day! 💗☔

I can easily see why this one called - Tundra - brown-greys are the colours of the terrain, predominantly.
