Oh my goodness, I've had a happy and creative day today!
My order arrived from Goulet Pens all the way from Virginia. I bought four full bottles of ink, a set of random samples of ink, and my 'last' pen for now. I'm hoping to stop the buying of things and continue the testing and using them on a daily basis.
This is a sheet of all the inks that I have. 2/3 of these are tiny sample bottles. I've already used up two of them. I can fill my pen about two or at the most three times and that's it.
To keep my anxiety about having so many inks to a minumum, I am thinking of them as 'doodle fodder' for future art projects. It's fun to choose two or three colors that work well together in a drawing or doodle. I'll have lots of variety.
Here's the desk in the middle of testing...
Here's my new pen. I'm pretty much smitten with it. They said it was 'orange', but it turns out to be what I would call 'old gold'. I just love it. It's not at all expensive, but it looks like it!!!
And here's a close up of some writing I did with my pen that has the broadest nib. It shows off the properties of the ink in the most dramatic way.
I'm rather fascinated by close ups of handwriting. I often look at it with my magnifying glass to check for feathering. This paper and this ink are amazing together.
This was a perfect way to spend a very rainy and blustery afternoon indoors. I'm very grateful. 💗
