Street Fair
Tue Sep 06 2005

I was going to write about one thing, but then got distracted and actually, for the better, as then I needed to get to town centre. And when I’ve got into town, there was something awaiting there, something truly fairly-landy wonderful…something bright and loud, something laughing, singing, playing…with stands full of toys, with merry-go-rounds, fun rides, rooms of “horror”, mirrored labyrinths, many more amusements, for all ages and all tastes…and lots and lots of other wonders…WOW - I said…I completely forgot about St.Giles Fair – the annual event in Oxford, the three days of September, where joy and laughter rule in the Kingdom Of Happy Faces…

As it happened to be a lunch time, me and my colleague couldn’t resist to try few rides for a joy of it…yes, we are that silly…but who wouldn’t feel that childhood excitement on a street full of magic! You just can’t stand aside when all this joy swirls, jumps, flies around, all those balloons, food stalls and souvenir sellers…oh, look at this Merry-go-round-thing! Loud music, miracles on every corner, golden horses, camels and some other unidentified animals LOL, I just couldn't pay much attention to what they were, as my choice was a pretty horsy thing, all in gold, with the red hair (?!) absolute beauty!...and the thing is…you don’t feel stupid on merry-go-round, as there were plenty of adults riding with us, all enjoy themselves, just as we were…we’ve also raced on those little electric cars…the ones where you’re your main objective is to stay in the driver seat, while bashing into each other on full electrical speed…oh, I can’t even describe how GOOD it was! (well, I’ve een told after that nobody would want to drive along when I’m on the road, so – there – I consider this as a compliment :-p )

So, that was one of rather exciting lunch times today…pity I forgot about three days of the Fair and today is the last day of it…but there is always next year…and the next after next one…and each year after ;-)
