Is It True?
Mon Dec 12 2005

Something is not right…I’m writing entries, one by one, then deleting them, one by one…writing…deleting…writing again…deleting…writing…you’ve got the picture…like being lame on one leg…one step…the other – stumble. How can you ever write a diary in such manner, writing and deleting entries [~frowns ] Surely you won’t get much written at all…frustrated with own muteness…and in the meantime…is this true that Christmas is coming?...how can you tell?

First Christmas Card received? And the merry Santa’s laugh, and ho ho ho I’ll bring you a bowl of spaghetti, I had to be nice, you know…hilariously fantastic first virtual gift of a smile for this year celebration of a season in Italian-Canadian style… with a beautifully embroidered bookmark…from library to library, so to speak…across the continents…thank you so much!

First Christmas party attended? And the feathers that took so long to be attached to different places in a spirit of the Party theme of 12 days of Christmas…and who cares that by the time I’ve got home, just after midnight, somehow I’ve lost all of them…like Cinderella, only without slippers, but feathers instead…though not in the place of slippers (that would make dancing rather difficult, not? hmmmm)…but in other places…

First Christmas gift? Our driver gave me a Teddy Bear today…he is ever so cute! (Teddy Bear that is, though the driver is ever so sweet!). My first Christmas gift this year…totally unexpected, came as a surprise and simply made my day, like a sudden sunshine that made it through the thick clouds of greyish winter skies...and for the whole afternoon I would cast a glance at the Teddy and smile to him, warmed up with the kindness that appeared from the least expected places…

Last week we put up decorations in the office. That happened by accident. Literally. The router gone down and so subsequently did the network. And we have nothing else to do then to pull out last year’s storage box with the tree and all the sparking stuff accumulated by collective efforts over last years…somehow in the new office old decorations looked refreshingly unfamiliar and in the different from before places (Duh!)…I think, it is generally a good idea to change design pattern from time to time – gives a feeling of renewed festivity…my kind boss brought Christmas lights from home and put them up above the entrance to my office space...it is now like entering Santa’s Grotto every morning. In contrast to my own house, where there is no trace of any Christmas decoration anywhere yet…I’m being lazy and unmotivated still…I’ll wait until all the next doors will get completely Christmas-equipped, so that I can enjoy driving along our street, waving hello to all the flashing reindeers and smiling snowmen on the walls...it is like playing a game of allure...letting the charm of a fairy festival to steal up to you, closer and closer, until you'll be encircled with it completely and finally surrender...and then it’ll be my turn to cast a little wonder around too...there is no rush to get all excited so well in advance, that by the time the day actually comes, the joy will fade away. Even the most tasty palls if it is served every day…

So…with all this in mind…do I really need to ask if this is true that Christmas is coming?...
