Tolerance

It is interesting that the closer people to us, the less we prepare to endure from them. The more we become demanding. Not in a sense they ought to give us something, but in a way that they should be “the best”. Our children should be the best, our family – set an example, our friends – perfect…I can tolerate the fact that the boy next door is not a college material, but from my son I would demand full dedication to achievement of the best grades. I might forgive my colleagues forgetting my birthday, but it would upset me if I won’t get from my friends the same care as I care for them…strange, as by logic everything should be opposite – we forgive to our loved one much more then we’d forgive to the stranger…yet the same time we hope that they will match that ideal image we have of them…
