Strangers Outside Your Window
Thu Jun 01 2006

Sometimes you get in your office early in the morning and suddenly there are strangers outside your window…this is not a philosophical passage, this is exactly what happened today. I’ve got to my office pretty early .The traffic just wasn’t there at all – half term for schools and the roads were empty like after the nuclear explosion…my favourite radio show suggested to reduce pollution and carbon-dioxide levels by banning education…one can see how remarkably peaceful it is when schools are on holidays!

Anyway…the strangers outside my office windows…in our industrial estate they do not just deliberately walk around peeping into people’s working environments. And most certainly they don’t do this on the second floor’s level. But today I looked out of the window and there was a handsome man smiling at me. Outside my window…you know how sometimes you'd noticed something outrageous and do not make any real notice at first? Our eyes see before our brains make a judgement if it is real or not. While I was smiling back to the man, the slightly chilling thought brushed my hair the wrong way: I am on the second floor and there is a man outside my window hanging in the air…literally...it was only after he begun to float slowly up and down, I’ve finally noticed the big crane thingy, on which he was standing! Duh! The Stranger was just a builder doing some servicing to the roof or else…Pity, coz for a brief moment my fantasy obligingly draw a fairy tale picture for me: I am being serenaded by a ghost…how romantic…it was…and then the morning was rudely broken into the pretty normal working day with no place for serenades in it...[~sighs]
