Kazakh Tales. Bukhtarma

It is a known fact that when you build a dam over the river, there gonna be a big flood somewhere around that place. So when in 1960 they built a dam on the river Irtysh, it took about 6 years for the waters to claim the space. And so the new lake was born – Bukhtarma. Google - old friend - informed us that the length of Bukhtarma would be about 500 km and the width – around 35 km, and the depth – 9-10 m. Because of such a gigantic measurements the lake Bukhtarma often called the “Bukhtarma Sea”. Like with Sibinski lakes and many many others in Eastern Kazakhstan, all the shore of it has been bought out and transformed into resorts and recreations. You probably have guessed already which next station I am going to write about now.

In total we’ve spend 14 days in Eastern Kazakhstan. It was a foreknown fact that we will get overwhelmed with our visit, new experiences and lotsa love from kinsfolks. So I’ve booked in advance three days on the Bukhtarma Lake, just for two of us, me and Kid…so that we might have a much needed break right in the middle of our vacation. It happened to be the wisest decision I’ve made about the whole trip to Kazakhstan. Those three days have been just what was needed to re-charge for the last chapter of our holidays. Three day of peace and quiet, of climbing the mountains and chasing gophers, of splashing about in the sea-lake, trying to navigate catamaran and motorboat trip…three days of heaven and all - just for ourselves!…

It is a little bit awkward to try to describe in words what you’ve seen with eyes…words look so pale compared…how one does describe the breathtaking beauty of the granites cliffs decorated with the pines on the very top of them or narrow stripe of golden sand on a beach; how do you convey the scent of conifers and a sensation of a gentle breeze on your cheek…I don’t think I have to tell more…Just share the pictures…
