Get Ready, New York
Thu Oct 19 2006

Don’t tell me long distance trips are not supposed to be planned like this. Yeah, I know this myself, all right. It is not exactly like hopping on a train from Oxford to London, isn’t it?  What I’ve noticed interesting though, that the longer the distance, the less time it is between the moment of making decision and the moment of boarding the plane.

A week ago I didn’t think of going anywhere anymore this autumn. I thought, I had enough of travel this year…and then somehow I found myself searching for hotels, flights, etc…
So weird, huh?

It was a pure an idea of a moment., a flash of lightening, a snow in the middle of a summer...Just happenned suddenly for no apparent reason. I will wonder of the Why There and Why Now  when I come back. But for now, I’m going to read all the guide books I can find and listen to all advises I can get, because in 10 days I’m going to make this Big Leap over the Big Pond and hope to land safely in New York City. I will stay there for a week.

So if you have any brilliant ideas of how one can waste their time usefully in New York, feel free to share, publicly or privately. And if you’d fancy joining me there, you are very welcome too.

Get ready, New York, I am coming…

I've never been to New York, so I can't advise, but were I going to the Big Apple, these are what I would be interested in:

    The various villages, especially Greenwich.
    Twin Towers site.
Metropolitan Opera House, no matter what's playing.
Ferry to the Statue of Liberty.
    Any of the many museums.
    Coney Island.

Now if that isn't touristy, I don't know what is!

    Shalom
