Life Number Three.
Tue Jun 19 2012

My next incarnation. Actually, just a change of the facade. The Book is still the same, only the cover changed...I said that and then I realised that this is not quite true. Since I've opened this Diary for the first time, my views on life, on writing, on this place, they all have changed too. There were times when I felt almost guilty for not writing an entry here, like I've spent a day without finding anything in it worthy to share. The sharing since has changed its value to me. Long story, perhaps, the whole story of my life, that led to this and not to something else instead. I went to my very first entry here and realised that all that I have said about myself back then,  is no longer relevant to me. Such is reality, people do change. I’m no longer the one, who thinks a lot and writes those thoughts whenever finds a spare minute...I do think of course. A lot. I don't have that many spare minutes nowadays. And perhaps, neither do I have an inspiration to pin my thoughts in solid form. I do not ask a lot of questions. I find that more often then not, I do not wish to know the answer. Certain knowing can be disturbing to the peace of mind and peace of mind is what I now value above it all. As much as I still do love logic, I am not particularly concerned if there isn't one. I find the vague and obscure comfortable places to be, just as well. I used to put my own thoughts in other ppl’s mouth and assume that’s –what they meant to say. I understand now that we cannot control others, only our own reaction to them. Applying it to reality made my life so much easier, I am happy with this part of change. Perhaps, the only thing that came out true all the way from The Begining, is this: back in 2004 I wrote: "My new credo – “Things Are As They Are”. Accepting is my Ultimate Target. We’ll see how I’ll get there (if I will)" ...  I can now proudly announce - I am here, where I wanted to be.  And, trust me, acceptance is not a bad skill to have, it certainly helps to face life's challenges. So, here we are, at the begining of yet another Chapter. Life Number Three. Let's see where would she take us.

Anything you might think up to encourage people to migrate and set up housekeeping would be great. Right now, the 'add friends' function is not working here. I have sent Steve a bug report on it. I feel it's vital to get that working so that we start to get notifies when our friends post to their diary. It WAS working earlier, but it may be that his war on the spammers has messed that up at present. I tried adding you as a friend, but it didn't go through. Anyway, we will work out the kinks one way or another!

The friends system should now be fixed, it works a little differently to before (but perhaps more like the old system). Let me know if a) it doesn't work or b) you feel there's anything that needs improving!

Yetzirah, I can now see you added as a friend for Notifies, I have also send you request for the same - check if you've got it. Steve, can the diary show that you have pending friends requests, similar to fb, when you logged on, it says "pending friends requests or something? at the moment, unless you go specificaly to the Friends screen on dashboard, you have no way to know if somebody awaits your approval to see your entries. (or I cannot see it at least)

I want to use the Genesis theme also, but did not like the way my header image was displaying. I'll try to figure out those directions you just gave up there in the comments. I just could not get it to do what I wanted the other day and went back to the twenty eleven for now. Another learning curve!!!

Dashboard-->Appearance-->Menu. Create Custom menu first - put all those "thingies" in it, give it a name. then on the same Menu page - --> Theme Locations--> the top bar is Primary Navigation Menu the secondary navigation would sit right under the Primary one - too clotted to my liking. But basically, I've got few custom menues and played with placing them different places, use widget for that as well as Theme locations. :-) I'm going to start composing an entry with the DD tips, so that all can contribute a very simple step-guide how to get something you want into your new diary. watch my space :-)
