Coming of Age I am on the brink of becoming truly fine. Like a bottle of wine forgotten in some dark cellar, by subtle shift in chemistry and mysterious balance of elements, without fanfare or witness, turning the corner from ordinary to greatness. I wonder if some wiseman will notice ? His eye must needs be keen, to recognize such quality through a glass darkly. But great will be his reward, if he has the vision, if he has the courage, to coax this genie out of her bottle !

- From:Chaya (Unauthenticated) (Legacy)On:Wed Jan 08 2003I betcha I know one genius who can coax that genie out of her bottle. Or maybe even join her.
Heh! - From:RealmOfRachel (Legacy)On:Wed Jan 08 2003Really like this, especially the parts about chemistry subtly altered and the line about 'through a glass darkly'. You make poetry seem so effortless! In answer to your question I despised the English Patient!- Too many hours of nothing to look at but sand and nothing to listen to but whiny upperclass Brits cheating on their spouses. I think my tutor was sent off by the cloven hoofed one without a hug, or has possibly been smoking an illicit substance with Robert Downey Jnr to come up with this assignment.
Anyway thanks for the support will keep you posted... - From:Bookworm (Legacy)On:Wed Jan 08 2003This was great, is it your own? Have you read the novel Blackberry Wine by Joanna Harris? It's narrated by a bottle of wine. ;-)
