It’s a daunting task to write something coherent every day.
(We’ll let you know if you ever make it to coherent.)
Oh thanks so much!
I try to tell myself that I don’t have to be brilliant every day, but I DO have to show up and make an honest effort.
(So, who ever said that you have been brilliant in these pages?)
Hmmm. Good point.
As I was SAYING, an honest effort, not brilliant.
Besides brilliant all the time is impossible….well, maybe William F. Buckley could pull it off. He boggles my mind that guy. You have a feeling when he’s talking, that he is so far ahead of you, he is clear into next week already. He can say more with raised eyebrows and widened eyes than anyone I have ever seen.
I have always had a secret desire to spend a leisurely afternoon with him hashing out any number of subjects. Beginning with the TV show he did one time with Morley Safer about modern art. It was precious.
William F. Buckley is so bright, he could be calling you every kind of fool and you might not figure out that you had been insulted until three days later while soaking in your nice hot bath.(At that moment, you’d lose your bar of soap and the Rubber Duckie would turn his back on you) By which time, he would be miles away, so you wouldn’t have a chance to confirm…. I mean defend yourself.
All I know is, I want him on MY team in ANY debate, on ANY subject. Period. Not that this would ever happen you understand. But just in case, I wanted to be on record about it… Write that down.
So how do I get Mr. Bill to come over for tea and cookies?
Suggestions anyone?
