Summer is here. It was HOT today. Everyone was a little stunned after our long spell of VERY moderate weather around here. We have been staggering around in a daze. I saw one woman walking with a newspaper for a sunshade this afternoon. She had the right idea.

I was driving home from a class this evening and when I came close to home, where there are fields instead of asphalt the temperature dropped about 15 degrees right away. The grasses are pretty much dried out now and there is a very interesting smell that comes with that. Clean, astringent and from some place there was a definite hint of dill. It smelled like a summer garden.

Go ahead, ask me anything about Microsoft Excel. I went through the entire on line tutorial today. I was completely on my own in a small office with no one to tell me what to do. So I learned how to make an expense worksheet, a pie graph, a chart, and a supplies list. There were some surprisingly easy solutions to things I formerly could NOT figure out and I feel confident that I could turn out a decent document with that program if asked.....

Now I just need to get asked :-)

In the meantime, it's time for bed. Maybe if I open the windows and catch a whiff of the dill smell from the fields, I will dream of kosher pickles.

Silly weather. Sneaks up on us. Couldn't just ease into these triple digits. I went out for lunch with a friend today, but we were home before the pavements melted.

My sister is in Tucson, practically surrounded by the fires in the mountains, and the temperature there reached 105 today. Fire, smoke, heat, devastation. What a world.

    Rest well.

    Shalom

Proud as I am of you defeating trhe evil computer I have to ask- where were you when I needed a spreadsheet?! ;) Well done Microsoft to me contains all of the evil scariness that was loosed from Pandora's box- so I'm impressed that anyone can use it without a breakdown.

I love Excel and use it all the time! I have not had any practical use yet for Access Database, but you should learn it also.
