One thing I HAVE gotten half way through is organizing several of my essays. I gathered them from hither, thither and yon. From flippies, flappies and floppies. Hard copies and hard drives everywhere you look.
I now have them corralled on the desktop in a folder and on one floppy.
Tomorrow I intend to print them out and organize them by composition date, as close as I can remember and put them in a binder.
The hard copies are the only ones that I trust. Then hopefully from now on I will be more diligent to get them in the binder where they are safe from electronic mayhem. Where in a pinch, they could be read by candlelight. How romantic eh?
I should not be bragging so really. If you could see my work table, strewn with old copies of essays that have been edited and need to be thrown out, an old binder open to an old version of something written 5 years ago. The scribble book open to the latest random chaotic drivel that must be tamed and deciphered so as to be presentable to share, and a folder filled with deardiary entries from months ago before I got organized and started printing them out by month. So you see, there is still a lot to do. But I tell you, working in a chaotic office 5 days a week and seeing how the government handles it’s paperwork, put a bee in my own bonnet to square away my own papers. Here, at least, I have a say so in the level of chaos that will be tolerated !
Okay, off to bed. Maybe I will get in a chapter of Harry Potter before I fall asleep.
