Of Hot Baths And Horse's Legs
Sun Feb 27 2005

A chill wind blows today under overcast skies. And even though the peach blossoms are slowly peeking out, winter has not loosed his cold stiff fingers on us just yet.

I've grown overly fond of hot baths of late and have confirmed to myself yet again that there is nothing quite like a hot bath to make one forget about the lingering winter and the silliness of the Oscars.

I for one plan to studiously ignore the blasted Oscars. Really, I ask you, who CARES who gets what awards? It's the blind leading the blind over there anyway. I mean I submit to you this one factoid. Alfred Hitchcock never got an Oscar for his directing.
The people who give out the Oscars are idiots.

I rest my case.

And don't talk to me about the clothes and hairdos. If I had 10,000 dollars to spend and somebody spent 6 hours getting me ready, I bet even I could look pretty dang hot.

Could too!

I'm going back to my knitting. I'm working on a bag using size 15 circular needles. It's just as hilarious as working with a Q hook in crochet. One feels one is using a horse's leg to get the job done. But it sure makes fast work of the project!!!

Okay, I'll shut up now.

So you found the 15s. You'll be posting a picture soon?

I enjoyed your hot bath entry. In fact, I'm thinking that maybe a steaming bath might help clear up the lungs. And I still have some bubble bath left.

    Shalom

Oscar night is vastly over rated. How many times can you hear the words "I would like to thank the academy..." before you go stark raving mad? It falls into the catagory of Chinese water torture.

As to the the clothes and hair, I ask what clothes? My Barbie doll had more material draped around her tiny little frame than most of the starlets on parade. She had better taste too. LOL

I think I'll skip it again this year. :)

You have inspired me to clean out the kitty feety prints in my bathtub and indulge in a nice hot one.

You are certainly one crafty lady.

Oscars? Gag me with a spoon.

Someone said they thought the purple flowers on my diary are not peach blossoms, is that true? I will be severly disillusioned. Around here, we have orchards and orchards of apple trees, and also cherry trees but I'm not really familiar with peach trees. Pear blossoms are lovely as well, I have seen those down in Indiana.

Ack . . . babbling . . . off to wallow in vanilla scented suds!

    Have a great week,
    Anne

I can't quite claim not to have known that the Oscars are on tonight, but I certainly have no desire to see a minute of it. We watched a Harold Lloyd movie instead, from 1932. I'm sure it was a far better production.

Love your latest bag...I think all the little buttons you add really finish them off! I bought my wool and my kool-aid.... hopefully I'll feel adventurous soon.

In the meantime... I finished a crocheted Hello Kitty backpack. It's soooo cute.

P.S. My email solution... I pay $20 a year for my yahoo mail so I can have it anytime, anywhere, no matter who my internet provider is...and the bonus...it scans all my incoming and outgoing mail for virus'.

You know what bugs me about the Oscars?? they give those stars so much perks. I read something bout they are given over a million dollars in prizes and trips and dizzle dazzle.. Now I ask you, wouldn't it be so noble for just a few of those stars to say. NO thanx.. Take this money and use it where it is really needed??
    Makes too much sense.
:) So it will never happen

    :P Have a good week
How come your notices about diary come from a different addy?? Hmmmmmm

grrr I hate those award ceremonies too. I mean they spend so much time getting ready for it and the right dresses and such and the whole thing is just so FALSE.

...wouldn't it be nice tho' to be pampered and primped for hours on end, sucked into some little black number and pouffed to perfection! bet we could all look a million dollars, sigh!
