In her other Blog, Bookworm wrote about a web site called 1000 Journals Project
As soon as I read it, I thought it was a wonderful idea. And thought, Why don't WE here at Dear Diary start our own? Here is what I propose: I have purchased this journal:

Here is the title page:

We will circulate it among those interested in participating. Each person will have two pages to add things to. Like so: [album 65561 Open book2.JPG] Let your imagination run free. Just two very important suggestions, do your best not to mar the following page of the next person. By this I mean, if you wanted to paint something, paint it on another sheet of paper and double stick tape it to your pages, don't paint right on the journal paper. Though I can see no problem with drawing on it and of course writing is fine. Also, try not to put very bulky things in it. I already suspect it's going to get pretty pudgy before all is said and done. It has ribbons to keep it closed thank goodness. Just keep in mind that the back of your page is the front of someone else's.
For those of you who like to plan ahead.... (us control freak types ) ;-) The pages are about 9 3/4 inches by 9 3/4 inches square.
The only rules are these: Only Dear Diary members may participate, I estimate there is only room in this journal for 36 people. When you receive the journal you have 7 days to complete your pages. We will all be responsible for mailing it promptly to the next person on the list. Check with me on who to contact. Be aware, that this may entail overseas postage for some of you depending on how the list falls out. You may send your Dear Diary name to me, and I will make a master list. It will be first come, first served until all the pages are spoken for. I will not be keeping everyone's mailing address. Just your diary pen name. We will only be giving our address to one person, the one who will be sending us the journal.
I will send it off to the first person who tells me they want to participate. I'll do my best to locate some kind of sturdy box to mail it in. I'll see what I can do about that. If you want to, you could take a picture or scan of your completed pages and put them on your diary, so we can see how it is progressing.
Here are my two pages completed:

When the 36th person has added their pages, they can mail it back to me, and I thought it might be a nice thing to send to Steve at Kabarty, as a memento of some of the virtual diarists "hard copy" work. And a tangible gift from us to show how many people have come together because of the hard and sometimes thankless work at Kabarty.
So what do you think? Anybody interested?
I am open to suggestions on things I may not have thought of and will be sure to post any changes in the plan before sending the "Dear Diary Really Real Traveling Journal" on its quest.
