Look Out, That Cat is Going to Hurl!
Thu Dec 29 2005

I got called to work this morning at about 10 o'clock.

I felt like poo poo leaving Sunny alone so soon, but such is life.

I decided that well adjusted dogs AND humans have to learn to live with "alone" time.

The good news is we both got in a nice long walk over to the seasonal pond in the fields early in the morning. I was tempted to let her off the leash, but was not just real sure she would come when I called her yet. I'm sure that was not her favorite way to enjoy the out of doors, but it had to be so today...

She was, shall we say.... overjoyed to see me when I got home.

Though Hamlet is working himself into a sick in his resistance of our new canine family member. He was up on my desk growling lowly and keeping an eye on Sunny, when he started acting like he was going to hurl.

I put him outside to calm down.

I hope he gets over this pretty soon. Silly goose.

Dustbunny3 would like to let you know that their computer is on the fritz due to a power bump. He will be up and running again soon one hopes.

Well, I am going to reward Sunny's good behavior with another outing before bed, so off I go.

I've noticed that cats aren't generally the most welcoming critters. Good hosts they're not.

Banshee's nose is still out of joint, but at least he's demanding his prerogative of lap-time and KK can just go find his own entertainment.

I know Sunny will be a fine companion after she's learned the rules. Give her a scratch around the ears from a friend she hasn't met yet.

    Shalom

Oh poor pussy. The cat we had at the time we got our dog responded badly, too. He never really did get over it. But cats can be like that. ;-)

The best trick I can recommend is to give dog and cat a bath with the same soap so they smell the same. It won't fix all the problems, but it may be enough to confuse the cat just a bit. NOT that I'd want to be bathing a cat, but you know, I don't actually have to do it so I'm safe in suggesting it.

We're glad to hear all is well there. Stay dry!
